French newspaper L’Equipe have claimed that Newcastle United are set to be made to wait over a move for Paris Saint-Germain defender Stanley Nsoki, after a move hit an obstacle.
It was previously believed that Newcastle were finally set to end their pursuit of a left-back, with the 20-year-old PSG ace set to move to Tyneside after a fee of £10million had been agreed between the two clubs.
France Under-21 international Nsoki, who has broken into Thomas Tuchel’s side and made 16 appearances for the senior team, has long been linked with a move to St. James’ Park – especially under Rafa Benitez.
With a fee agreed, only personal terms stand in the way of Newcastle signing Nsoki. But the latest report claims that Newcastle’s wage offer and Nsoki’s demands are somewhat different. Talks are continuing, but a move is less likely.

Italian sides Lazio and Roma remain interested and they will be watching intently if Newcastle fail to overcome the obstacle and reach an agreement with the left-back.
TBR’s view – Newcastle need to suck it up and pay Nsoki
Nsoki is an excellent left-back, with enormous potential and certainly could be a bargain at £10million. He has the promise to go on and potentially double his value, or even more.
Newcastle need a left-back desperately. Matt Ritchie is a winger and Javier Manquillo is simply not good enough to start, and Nsoki is required.
