Romano: Newcastle monitoring two-time title-winning striker, officials at Old Trafford also keeping a close eye

According to Fabrizio Romano, Newcastle and Manchester United are both being kept informed of talented Slovenian striker, Benjamin Sesko.

Taking to his Twitter account this evening, Romano confirmed that Sesko is being monitored by both the Toon and the Red Devils, who are keen on exploring the possibility of bringing the 19-year-old to England.

Sesko, who has already won two league titles with RB Salzburg, is seen as another striker coming off the conveyor belt of the Austrian club. The likes of Patson Daka and of course, Erling Haaland, have flourished with the Austrian giants in recent seasons.

And Romano has said that Sesko could be the latest to leave Salzburg for pastures new, with United and Newcastle keen.

Sesko has already scored for Slovenia at full international level and netted ten times in all competitions for RB Salzburg last season. Described by Romano as ‘really talented’, it’s not believed a deal is imminent for either club as things stand.

However, with Newcastle keen on bringing in a new striker this summer, Sesko might well be the one they end up going for as the window drags on.

TBR’s View: Sesko Worth The Punt For Newcastle

Sometimes you have to take a bit of a gamble on a striker and Newcastle would be wise to spend some of their budget on signing the impressive Sesko.

Sesko looks very much like being a striker capable of doing the business across Europe and at just 19, he is a player who could turn out to be a bargain buy.

Salzburg’s record of strikers recently is excellent and if Newcastle think there’s a chance that Sesko is the next one in line, then it might be worth the Mags moving for him now.
