Newcastle United were hammered by Leicester City today, as Eddie Howe saw his side lose 4-0 to Brendan Rodgers’ charges at the King Power.
A double from Youri Tielemans and additional goals from Patson Daka and James Maddison ensured a much-needed and comfortable win for the Foxes on Super Sunday. Meanwhile, for Eddie Howe and his side, it was a worryingly bad performance.

Newcastle are now seriously in danger of relegation and there was a whole host of problems with the performance, even to the neutral.
Further to criticism from some of the onlooking supporters, former striker and club legend Alan Shearer was also quick to offer up his thoughts on the Newcastle players. And while he sympathised with the Toon for the penalty decision which came before half-time, Shearer felt the performance was unacceptable. Taking to Twitter, the former England striker said:
Shearer was replying to a jibe from fellow MOTD pundit and presenter, Gary Lineker, who as we all know, is a Leicester City fan.
Newcastle sit second from bottom in the Premier League table. They are still well within touching distance of fourth from bottom Watford. However, Toon fans will be hoping for January to quickly come around.
TBR’s View: Newcastle Are In Huge Trouble
This was a seriously worrying performance from Newcastle United. After finally getting their first win of the season last weekend, they seem to have gone backwards today.
Eddie Howe desperately needs new players. He needs defenders, a midfielder at least, and someone to score goals. PIF will need to back their man, while the right players will also need to be bought.
Leicester, of course, will be delighted with the game and result. But there is no doubt that this Newcastle team is in need of a major overhaul. And quick.
