Newcastle United goalkeeper Martin Dubravka has insisted he’s happy at St. James’ Park, after recent speculation linked him with a summer departure.

The 30-year-old was linked with a move to Italian giants Juventus in March, with the player’s agent Pavel Zika confirming the interest.

But Newcastle fans don’t have to worry about the £4.5 million signing from Sparta Prague leaving this summer.

Dubravka said, as quoted by The Chronicle: “I will not think about it. I just focus on my job here. I have heard some rumours, but I’m not interested in even speaking about it. I was just focused on my job here.

“What happens in the summer is up to the people in the office. I’m happy here – I’m playing every week and enjoying myself.”

Dubravka certainly has been playing every week – the Slovenian stopper played every single Premier League game in 2018/19.

Despite a dip towards the end of the season, he has been excellent for the club since signing in January 2018.

His £4.5 million fee looks like a steal, and surely an improved contract will not be out of the question should he continue his fine form into 2019/20.
