It looks like Heung-min Son might be about to use the enforced Premier League suspension to complete his mandatory military service.
Tottenham fans might be wondering, what military service? The South Korean helped his nation to the Asian Games title in 2018 which made him exempt from the mandatory 21-month military service. However, he still has to complete a shortened obligation.
The London Evening Standard reported that Son was now waiting to hear if the Premier League was set for a further suspension before committing to a four-week course this month.
However, reports coming out from South Korea have shone some light on the story.

According to The Korea Times, Son will not undergo a four-week training scheme. Instead, he will be working with the Marine Corps, which is a three-week programme compared to the army’s four-week schedule.
The report claims Son will report to a Marine base on the southern island of Jeju on April 20th to complete his service, once he gets the go-ahead from Tottenham Hotspur.
Assumingly, Son will then return to Tottenham around the 10th of May. He will seemingly be fit for action when doing so. Son has been out injured with a broken arm, but conducting a Marine Corps training regimen would suggest Son is recovered from the injury.
Whenever Tottenham do get back to playing football, Tottenham will hopefully have a fully-fit Son on their hands, with no more looming spectre of military conscription with his nation.
