Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher's instant reaction after Wolves reject £35m bid from Nottingham Forest

Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher have been speaking about all things football over on Instagram, including Nottingham Forest’s pursuit of Morgan Gibbs-White.

The midfielder, who shone on loan with Sheffield United last season, has been the subject of a number of bids from Forest, which has resulted in a huge £35m offer being turned down today. It’s believed Wolves don’t want to sell Gibbs-White, and he could even start this weekend’s opening fixture.

And doing a bit of a fan interaction chat on Neville’s Instagram account just now, both Neville and Carragher admitted to being shocked by Wolves’ position on Gibbs-White.

“Wolves have turned down a bid from Nottingham Forest for £35 million for Morgan Gibbs-White. He doesn’t get a game, does he?,” Neville said on Insta.

“He doesn’t hardly play, no. Everton put a bid in earlier in the window, I think. I’d take that if I was Wolves,” Carragher added.

“I mean seriously! I would as well,” Neville rounded off with.

Forest have been pushing to sign Gibbs-White, who hit double figures in both goals and assists in the Championship last term. Coincidentally, it was his missed penalty that sent Forest to Wembley at the expense of the Blades.

TBR’s View: Wolves Right To Hold Firm But £35m Is Big Money

Wolves obviously feel they have a top player on their hands with Gibbs-White and in a way, they’re entitled to stick to their guns really over this.

Neville and Carragher might be surprised, but £35m isn’t the be all and end all in modern day football either. If Gibbs-White has a good season with Wolves, then it’s like having a new player anyway.

Wolves are doing the right thing at the end of the day. It’s down to them to value Gibbs-White, and ultimately they feel he’s worth more than that.
