Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves believes his fellow compatriot Joao Moutinho has been the club’s best player so far this season.
Wolves have enjoyed a fine return to the Premier League in 2018/19 following their promotion from the Championship.

A large proportion of the team have played excellently in their rise up the table to seventh place – from Rui Patricio in goal to Raul Jimenez in attack.
In the eyes of Neves though, Moutinho has been the club’s player of the season up until now.
He said: “I have to say Joao Moutinho. He takes too much for our team, he plays really good – very, very intelligent and we learn a lot from him.”
Moutinho the master
The Portugal midfielder has certainly enjoyed some fine form in his first season in English football.
The 32-year-old was picked up from AS Monaco for a paltry £5 million last summer (BBC Sport), and he made a mockery of that fee in no time.

In 28 Premier League appearances, Moutinho has scored one goal but laid on seven assists so far.
It has been his ability to probe and create from midfield that has impressed supporters the most.
Sometimes he goes under the radar with the likes of Neves and Jimenez grabbing the headlines, but his worth is certainly known by his teammates and Neves, his apprentice, in particular.
