Jurgen Klopp rotated his starting line-up last night to take on Burnley at Turf Moor and they emerged victorious at the end.
With the scores level at half-time and then Jack Cork putting Burnley ahead, Klopp’s decision to rest a number of players looked like it was backfiring.
But goals from James Milner, Roberto Firmino and Xherdan Shaqiri ensured Liverpool took all three points back to Merseyside.
One man stood out in the game; Naby Keita was named man of the match for his midfield masterclass.
The 23-year-old has had a mixed start to life at Anfield and he has struggled to assert himself as a regular starter just yet.
The likes of Jordan Henderson, Gini Wijnaldum and Milner have all enjoyed more playing time than Keita so far.
But after his eye-catching performance against the Clarets, where he was unlucky not to get on the score sheet, maybe the Guinea international is set for a bigger role.
Klopp would have been impressed with Keita, who controlled the midfield with his passing, energy and ball-carrying skills.
Below are tweets from Liverpool fans sharing their thoughts on Keita’s impressive midfield display.
