Some Wolves fans were in bits after a report linked attacker Pedro Neto with a potential transfer to Everton.

According to Liverpool Echo, the Blues admire the Portugal international. However, it is unclear to the publication whether the club plan on acting upon their interest.

Neto’s former boss Nuno Espirito Santo has been linked with the vacant manager role at Goodison Park. According to Sky Sports, the Portuguese coach is in talks with the club over the job.

Meanwhile, the Midlanders are close to appointing Bruno Lage as their new head coach. Fabrizio Romano has claimed the former Benfica man was the frontrunner ever since Nuno left the club at the end of last season.

Alan Shearer once labelled the ace a ‘huge talent‘.

TBR View: Neto would be far too expensive for Everton this summer

Neto enjoyed a brilliant breakthrough season in the Premier League last campaign. His age and profile will no doubt attract suitors as a result.

However, with the 21-year-old possessing a contract which expires in 2025, his immediate future is safe. A combination of his form, age and current deal means Wolves are able to demand a hefty fee.

Given the current malaise, Everton unlikely to be able to afford a transfer fee for the Wolves winger Neto this summer.

Here is how fans reacted to the report
