Neil Warnock says Arsenal have a player who's such a 'horrible little person' on the pitch

Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus has been praised by managerial cult hero Neil Warnock on the Die for Three Points Podcast.

The 74-year-old described the Gunners and Brazil star as a “horrible little person on the pitch”, which he meant as a huge compliment.

Warnock also deemed Jesus “fabulous” and admitted he’d “absolutely love him” in his squads.

Jesus has been sensational for Arsenal since joining from Manchester City in the summer.

Mikel Arteta had been crying out for a new No. 9 to lead the Gunners line, and Jesus was just the player.

Sadly, the Brazil international is now on the sidelines after undergoing surgery for a knee injury.

This is the one thing Arsenal didn’t want to happen, losing arguably their most influential player to injury.

The Gunners are top of the Premier League table, but other clubs will surely fancy their chances now.

And Warnock believes the title race is wide open due to Jesus’ absence over the coming weeks or months.

“I think it’s wide open in the Premiership, it’s going to be fantastic,” he said.

“Arsenal to have lost Jesus like that, I mean wow. That is a blow that.

“He’s a horrible little person on the pitch, I love him! As a manager, oh I’d absolutely love him, I do honestly.

“I’d have him anywhere me, I think he’s a fabulous player.”

Pressure beckons for Arteta, Edu and Nketiah

Jesus’ injury means the spotlight will now be on Eddie Nketiah to provide the crucial goals from centre-forward.

He took his chance well enough at the tail end of last season, very nearly getting the Gunners into the Champions League.

However, there’s also a chance Arteta could delve into the market to bring in a replacement.

Hopefully Arsenal will alleviate fans’ fears quickly, be it through Nketiah making an instant goalscoring impact or a high-profile new signing early on in the window.
