Rangers won out against Celtic this afternoon in the cup semi-final as a goal in extra-time proved enough to see the Gers come back from 1-0 down.
Greg Taylor had looked to had done enough to give Celtic a win against their big rivals but a goal 12 minutes from time from Scott Arfield ensured the game went into the extra 30 minutes. And it was during that extra-time period that Carl Starfelt was the unlucky player to put into his own goal to win the game for Rangers.

However, former Rangers man, Neil McCann, was watching the game for the BBC and he picked out Fashion Sakala for his role in the goal, admitting it wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for his run.
“Rangers’ levels of fitness have been exceptional. You don’t get that own goal unless you make a run. Sakala breaks his neck to try and get a touch but he does enough,” McCann said on BBC Sport.
For Rangers, it means another chance at a trophy this season after they progressed in Europe in midweek against Braga. Indeed, the effort levels and fitness from Rangers was a theme McCann kept picking out throughout the game.
TBR’s View: Rangers Just Keep On Going
Celtic might end up winning the league title in the end but Rangers deserve huge credit lately. Their performance in midweek was bound to have taken its toll, so to go to extra-time again and win out is impressive.
Celtic will be gutted with how the game finished but Rangers probably did enough to win it. These two teams are quite evenly matched now, in fairness, and on another day the game might swing in Celtic’s favour.
Alas, today was Rangers’ day and they march on.
