Celtic’s win over Hibs in the Scottish Premiership was a great all-round team performance that really pleased the manager, Brendan Rodgers.
From the defence to the front men, the whole team was superb as Rodgers’ words from St Johnstone were still ringing in the Celtic bhoys ears.
But it was Celtic’s midfield that had former Rangers striker, Neil McCann, looking envious towards the Parkhead club.
McCann praised Matt O’Riley for his goal but it’s the attacking threat that the Hoops midfield has that impressed the former Ibrox man.
McCann said [BBC Sportscene], “Celtic do it better than anyone in that the midfielders break into scoring positions so often and he’s [Matt O’Riley] scored so many really good goals for Celtic.
“But when Dylan Levitt looks back at that, the last thing you want to do is chuck away an early goal at Celtic Park and then gift a second.
“Levitt sees him, he just doesn’t go all the way and Matt O’Riley duly punishes.”
It’s a theme that has been ongoing for Celtic under Brendan Rodgers. No longer is the Hoops gaffer reliant on one for goals as the burden of hitting the back of the net is spread out amongst the team.

Look at the stats. Matt O’Riley has eight so far this season quickly followed up by David Turnbull on seven.
Luis Palma is level with Hyeongyu Oh on five as the goals remain spread out amongst the Celtic players. [SPFL]
This was something that Rodgers instilled at Celtic in his first period as the manager and it seems that the fans will be seeing more goals from the midfield as the season wears on.
