Neil Lennon has hailed Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer for his role at Parkhead this season.
The 21-year-old has become a key first teamer at Parkhead this campaign and racked up 41 appearances across all competitions.
He’s a colossus centre-back that has been thriving since Lennon took charge as interim manager and is a rock in the backline.
The Norway international is extremely mature for his age and calm in possession, which makes him a great weapon to play out from the back.
The Scottish giants are still on course for a domestic treble and the defender will continue to play a key role.
Lennon has suggested that Ajer has been overlooked this season when it comes to the individual awards.
The ball-playing centre-back has not been named on either four-man shortlist for the PFA Scotland Premiership Player of the Year or the young player award.
“I was a little surprised he wasn’t nominated because he’s had a brilliant season. He’s really made that position his own,” Lennon said, as quoted by the club’s official Twitter account.

TBR’s View:
Attackers usually dominate the proceedings when it comes to individual awards, which has perhaps been the case when it comes to Ajer.
But the centre-back has still had a brilliant campaign for Celtic and fans should be excited that he is going from strength to strength.
He will continue to get better as he gets older and most importantly now he’s started to stamp out individual mistakes, while also taking up a leadership role.
Ajer has enjoyed a fantastic run in the side during Lennon’s spell so far and it could be great news for his development if he stays beyond the summer.
