Celtic manager Neil Lennon has claimed he hasn’t even heard of supposed transfer target Sergio Quintero amid talk of an imminent transfer.
The young midfielder actually claimed that he was in talks with the Hoops (via Daily Record), suggesting that a move was close.

The 20-year-old Ecuadorian was even hopeful of a switch being completed this week, but Lennon has now cast doubt on the proposed transfer.
He told BBC Sport after Celtic’s 3-1 over Sarajevo: “Never heard of him.
“We’re looking at a number of positions and hopefully we’ll get some business done sooner rather than later, because the priority at the minute is to negotiate the qualifiers.”
TBR’s view
Lennon’s comments come as a bit of a surprise, especially with Quintero talking about Celtic.
The Daily Record even have him quoted as saying he has been learning English in preparation for a move.
It is therefore a mystery that Lennon has not heard of the talented holding midfielder given the frequency of links to Parkhead in recent weeks.

Perhaps the manager is simply trying not to speak about transfers with the club now back playing competitive games again.
On Saturday they take on Rennes in a friendly, but next week is the return Champions League qualifier against Sarajevo.
