Celtic manager Neil Lennon singled out Callum McGregor for praise after his performance in the win over St Mirren.
The Bhoys maintained a five-point gap at the top of the Scottish Premiership table with a 2-1 victory on the road, which kept up their phenomenal form of late.
They have now won 11 league games in succession and have momentum ahead of the Old Firm derby on Sunday against second-placed Rangers.
McGregor opened the scoring against St Mirren with a close-range finish and it was his sixth goal of the season across all competitions.
The central midfielder has already racked up 35 appearances across all competitions this season and is a mainstay in the team.
James Forrest then added a second for the visitors in the 32nd minute, before Cameron MacPherson netted an 89th minute consolation for St Mirren.
Lennon hailed the influence of McGregor after Celtic’s Boxing Day victory and feels he’s been in great form.
“Callum was brilliant all day again today. The run he made for the goal was fantastic, he’s playing at such a high standard,” Lennon said as quoted by the club’s official Twitter account.

TBR’s View:
There is no doubt that McGregor is a vital part of the Celtic XI and he helps pull everything together from the centre of the park.
He’s shown that he can make a difference when he drives forward into the final third, but he’s also a deep-lying playmaker that breaks up play and controls possession.
The 26-year-old is at the peak of his powers right now for the Scottish giants right now and showed his importance on Thursday.
