Neil Lennon praised Celtic’s James Forrest after he helped lead his team to a home win against St Mirren on Wednesday night.
The reigning Scottish champions kept their spot at the top of the league table with a 2-0 victory at Parkhead.
They had to wait until two quick-fire goals in the second-half to wrap up three points and it was Mohamed Elyounoussi who netted first from close-range.
Forrest then added a crucial second after cutting inside onto his left foot and firing past the goalkeeper.
The 28-year-old signed a new four-year deal with Celtic earlier on Wednesday and he celebrated with his goal against St Mirren.
Bhoys manager Lennon was delighted with the winger’s performance in the league and views him as such a pivotal player in the squad.
“James was brilliant. He’s priceless to me. His all round game was exceptional. That’s ten goals and quarter of the season in. An amazing return for a wide player,” Lennon said, as quoted by the club’s official Twitter account.
“To have him secure now is very pleasing. That will settle him and hopefully continue his consistency which is very high.”

TBR’s View:
Forrest has been on fire for Celtic so far this season and he is definitely deserving of a new long-term deal, which is why everyone involved will be delighted with his contribution against St Mirren.
The dazzling wide player has now scored 10 goals and supplied 11 assists this season across all competitions in just 22 games across all competitions.
He’s continued to get even better during his Celtic career as he ages and is definitely now at the peak of his powers.
Celtic’s victory was essential in midweek to keep them top of the league, but Old Firm rivals Rangers won 4-0 away to Ross County and are only behind them still on goal difference.
