Neil Lennon praised Celtic defender Christopher Jullien for Lazio display
Neil Lennon raved about Celtic defender Christopher Jullien after his match-winning contribution in the victory against Italian opposition Lazio.
The centre-back scored an 89th minute winner with a powerful header to secure a 2-1 home win in the Europa League group stage fixture.
He’s made quite the impact since his summer arrival from Toulouse and has quickly become an ever-present in the side at Parkhead.
The Frenchman is a real threat when he goes forward for set-pieces, but defensively he’s a solid performer and once again against Lazio was extremely composed in the backline.
Lennon was left praising the 26-year-old after his latest performance and feel he excelled at the back.
“I thought he was outstanding. A rock. He was up against quality strikers. He handled them and then to go on and get the winner capped off an all-round great performance,” Lennon said, as quoted by the club’s official Twitter account.

TBR’s View:
Jullien is more than living up to the hype since his arrival in the summer and most importantly he’s been an upgrade in the Celtic defence.
His calmness on a big European night against Lazio was such a boost for the Scottish giants and it’s helped them take control of their group in the Europa League.
There is every chance that the club could get through to the knockout rounds of the competition if they continue in the same vein of form and Lennon deserves credit for his work.
