Neil Lennon praised Celtic defender Christopher Jullien for Europa League display
Celtic boss Neil Lennon gave defender Christoper Jullien a special mention following his display on Thursday night on the European stage.
The Bhoys earned a 1-1 away draw against Copenhagen in the first leg of a Europa League Round of 32 fixture.
Odsonne Edouard chipped in an away goal in the first-half for the Scottish giants, but Copenhagen will travel to Parkhead level next week courtesy of Dame N’Doye’s second-half equaliser.
It was very much a game of two halves, with Celtic very much on top in the opening 45 minutes and they created enough opportunities to be quite far ahead.
But Copenhagen made the pay with an improved effort after half-time and they are going to be a dangerous opponent in the second leg.
“I thought Jullien was immense. At times I felt we were too deep, they {the two centre-backs] defended heroically at times,” Lennon said, as quoted by the club’s official Youtube account.

TBR’s View:
Jullien, 26, put in yet another solid display in defence for his team and he doesn’t look out of place on the European stage in the slightest.
The towering centre-back was required during a busy second-half and he’s turned out to be an excellent £7million signing (Scottish Sun).
Celtic should fancy their chances of progressing to the next round, while Old Firm rivals Rangers are leading Braga 3-2 on aggregate from the first leg and it highlights the growth of Scottish football.
Lennon’s team won all three of their home fixtures in the Europa League group stage and it’s sure to be an electric atmosphere.
