Neil Lennon has given his thoughts on Celtic’s current 3-5-2 formation as well as their work in the transfer window, as per the Daily Record.
Lennon is pleased with the system he says he played for 10 years under Martin O’Neill at Parkhead and his predecessor Brendan Rodgers also attempted.
He said: “I thought we were close but we couldn’t get it done so that’s the end of it. I’m happy with the ins. We’ve streamlined a little bit as well, players who needed to get games.
“I’m pleased with [3-5-2], very pleased. I played in it for 10 years under Martin O’Neill so it’s nothing new – Brendan tried it a few times. It’s what I think is best for the team. I like our strikers. Playing two up front doesn’t always work but so far, so good.”

TBR’s View – Lennon’s experiment with 3-5-2 going better than Rodgers’ at Leicester
Lennon’s 3-5-2 has helped Celtic put clear water between themselves and Rangers, as they’ve flown out of the blocks after the winter break.
It’s a more hectic festive period in England and Transfermarkt claim Rodgers has used a three-man backline three times with Leicester.
It helped see off Newcastle 3-0 on New Year’s Day, but Rodgers’ decision to use it in both legs of the EFL Cup semi-final against Aston Villa saw the Foxes eliminated 3-2 on aggregate.
