Celtic boss Neil Lennon has raved about the performance of Ismaila Soro in Wednesday’s 3-0 victory over Dundee United.
The Bhoys secured a routine home win against Dundee United in the Scottish Premiership fixture and will now hope to use it as the perfect platform ahead of the weekend’s highly anticipated Old Firm derby.
Soro opened the scoring for the hosts in the 23rd minute with a brilliant long-range effort, plus there were also goals from David Turnbull and Odsonne Edouard.
Lennon’s side travel to Ibrox to face rivals Rangers on Saturday and know they need three points to try claw back the deficit at the top of the table.
The Celtic manager picked out in-form midfielder Soro for praise followings midweek display and said he “played brilliantly”.
“He played brilliantly. I thought he passed the ball really crisply. It means a lot to him to get his first goal. I’m really pleased with his contribution,” Lennon told the club’s official website.

TBR’s View:
Despite being a bit-part player in the opening few of months of this season, Soro’s importance to Celtic has gone through the roof in recent weeks and it seems remarkable that he was on the sidelines at Parkhead for so long.
The 22-year-old Ivorian is an all-action central midfielder that has helped to add some extra physicality on the pitch and there is no doubt his energy, work-rate and stamina has been key to the recent run of form.
He’s started the last four league games to help Celtic win all four, which is why surely it’s a no-brainer he retains his spot this weekend against Rangers.
