Gary Neville thinks that Jesse Lingard needs to leave Manchester United, amid links with Everton and West Ham United, as per his comments to The Overlap.
Lingard must go
Everton and West Ham are both said to be keen on the England international, following his wonderful campaign last year.
Lingard went on loan to West Ham over the back end of last season and played a pivotal role in getting back into Europe.
The Daily Express have reported how West Ham have now been trying to land the 28-year-old on a permanent deal, while Everton have been linked in recent weeks by The Sun.
And Neville thinks that the time has come for Lingard to go and be the main man at a club, rather than a bit part player at Old Trafford.
“Jesse needs to leave for Jesse. He got pride last year playing at West Ham,” he said.
“He’s the man there and he’ll come back here and play 15 games, and be a good squad player, but he doesn’t want that again surely after what he experienced last season.
“Jesse needs to leave for Jesse Lingard.”

To Everton or West Ham?
West Ham may have the edge over Everton in the race to sign Lingard, if the two clubs really do push.
Lingard, of course, knows the Hammers well after his loan spell there last season and they can offer him European football.
But Everton may well be looking to bolster their own creative options over the summer, with James Rodriguez’s future so uncertain.
And with West Ham stalling over doing a deal, the chance may be there to jump ahead in the race to sign him, if they launch a bid soon.
