‘Needs another loan’, ‘Really poor’ – Liverpool fans discuss loanee Harry Wilson’s play-off final performance

Harry Wilson’s loan spell at Derby ended in a play-off final defeat.

Derby County fell narrowly short of promotion to the Premier League on Monday. Aston Villa won the Championship play-off final 2-1 at Wembley to seal their return to the top-flight.

The wait goes on for Derby, who had Liverpool loanee Harry Wilson in their ranks. Many Liverpool fans watched the game hoping to see Wilson produce an impressive performance.

But in the biggest game of his season, the Wales international struggled to make an impact. He was marked out of the game and was not able to influence the score.

It was Wilson’s second loan spell away from Liverpool after spending the second half of last season at Hull City. And up until Monday, it had been a fruitful campaign.

The 22-year-old winger impressed with some stunning long-range goals and free-kicks. His left-footed shots have been replayed over and over.

With 18 goals and six assists this season, Wilson was highlighted as a big player before the final. But his performance did not impress the Liverpool fans who were watching.

Here are some tweets from Liverpool fans discussing Wilson’s performance for Derby and his future at Anfield.
