Arsenal slumped to a 3-1 defeat against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday. Although the effort and commitment of Unai Emery’s side couldn’t be faulted, they were simply outclassed by Jurgen Klopp’s Reds.
However, prior to the disappointing defeat on Merseyside, the Gunners had been enjoying a fine start to the new campaign. They will be desperate to get back to winning ways against bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday too.
Given they are playing Spurs at home, Emery will be expected to employ a far more attacking and aggressive system than he used against Liverpool. This may mean a return to the starting XI for Alexandre Lacazette. If the Spanish coach opts to deploy the French striker alongside Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Nicolas Pepe, as a front three, then the Gunners really will be set up to take the game to Spurs.
This is surely what the Emirates Stadium faithful will want to see. Emery is yet to start Lacazette, Aubameyang and Pepe together in the same game. What better occasion for a first look at this potent trio than the north London derby.
Lacazette would certainly pose a threat to Spurs’ back line. The 28-year-old scored and assisted against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League last season. The No. 9 also offers some variation to Arsenal’s attacking play and has proven his ability to link up well with Aubameyang.
Plenty of Arsenal fans have already taken to Twitter to call on Emery to start Lacazette on Sunday.
We need Lacazette to start this time! He is our big game player! We can destroy Spurs once again. https://t.co/DI1Nd06JIK

Torreira must start against Spurs. In fact, Torreira and Lacazette should always be the first on the teemsheet. Leno; AMN, Kolasinac, Chambers, Sokratis; Torreira, Ceballos, Willock/Ozil; Aubameyang, Lacazette,Pepe. There’s the 11 for the NLD & the games that follow.

Losing to Liverpool isn’t the end of the world when you realize Man United lost to Palace and Spurs lost to Newcastle!
Torreira and Lacazette need to start against spurs!
