Neco Williams has admitted, in comments reported by the Daily Mirror, that he thought it was unbelievable from James Milner to play such a key role in Liverpool’s preparations for their FA Cup tie with Shrewsbury.
The Reds are through to the fifth round after beating the League One side in a replay at Anfield.

It was a memorable night for the Premier League leaders. Neil Critchley took charge of a side that had an average age of just 19 with the first-team players away during the mid-season break.
However, one member of the senior squad took a very keen interest in the game. Milner attended the replay, and it turned out afterwards that he had trained with the side and come into the dressing room ahead of the game to offer advice.

And Williams explained just how special it was to have Milner involved with the squad.
“He trained with us yesterday and that obviously gives a boost. For him to be here today, to be in the changing rooms giving us advice, cheering us on I thought it was unbelievable from him,” he said, as reported by the Daily Mirror.
“All the lads will cherish that. It was a special night for a lot of us, a night that we’ll remember for a long time especially the debutants.”
TBR View – No better player to look up to
There is arguably no better player for the Reds to learn from than the Englishman. There may be members of the squad who grab more headlines with their moments of magic.
But few players in the Premier League are respected to the same level as Milner is. He is now 34 and yet, he looks capable of contributing to Jurgen Klopp’s side for years to come.
And with the Liverpool youngsters facing such a daunting task trying to break into the current side in the coming years, he may be the ideal role model.
