Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg delivered an overall good display for Denmark in their 3-0 friendly win over Serbia.
However, one first-half moment from the Spurs ace resulted in a Danish outlet comparing him to a comedy television show.
Tipsbladet, one of Denmark’s leading outlets, rated the national team players following their Tuesday display.

Hojbjerg got a reasonable 4 out of 5 rating, the outlet praising his second-half display and acknowledging his assist.
However, Tipsbladet didn’t hold back when it came to a first-half moment where he attempted to kick the ball but missed.
“The Tottenham star started the showdown a bit uncertain,” they wrote.
“And it was decidedly hopeless when he suddenly kicked a hole in the air instead of hitting the ball.
“That sequence was most reminiscent of FC Zulu.
“But Hojbjerg recovered, and he began to look more and more like the national team star he is.
“The second half was really good from the midfielder who assisted Jesper Lindstrom. Replaced after 66 minutes.”
What is FC Zulu, you may ask?
I asked myself the very same thing. A quick Google search and Wikipedia skim-read later, and I can tell you what it is.
“FC Zulu is a Danish television program on TV 2 Zulu,” writes Wikipedia.
“It tells the story about 16 nerds, who had never touched a football before, trained in 2004 for three months, with the goal of playing against FC Copenhagen in Parken.”
So, how did they get on? Well: “Against all odds, they were able to score a goal.”
It turns out the show had two series and has been exported to other countries.
Interestingly, it was also nominated for an Emmy for best ‘Non-Scripted-Entertainment’ in 2005.
So, something along the lines of Big Bang Theory meets Fash FC (showing my age here).
Anyway, that was only one first-half moment – overall, Hojbjerg did well and helped his side to victory.
