Liverpool defender Nathaniel Clyne is to be ruled out for around six months with a cruciate ligament injury, as reported by the Telegraph.
They report that £70,000-a-week (Spotrac) right back Clyne has flown him from Liverpool’s United States tour after the injury he suffered against Borussia Dortmund.
It has apparently taken a number of days for the extent of the damage to become clear, although the Reds are confident he can play again this season.
But the report also says that the Reds were in talks with a number of clubs, including Crystal Palace, over selling Clyne but any potential deal is now dead in the water.

It looked like Liverpool were using this pre-season to allow Clyne to get his match fitness up and put him in the shop window for potential suitors.
A return to his boyhood club Palace would have worked out well for all parties given the departure of Aaron Wan-Bissaka this summer, but Roy Hodgson will now need to look elsewhere.
Clyne has dropped behind Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez in the right back pecking order, although he could perhaps have offered useful cover at left back given the fact that a new face is yet to arrive there.
It’s a shame for Clyne just at the point where he looked like he could be getting his career back on track.
