Tottenham Hotspur are looking at potential future options at centre-back. Long-term doubts remain over the future of Toby Alderweireld. Whilst there is a degree of faith in the talents of both Juan Foyth and Davinson Sanchez, another arrival will no doubt soon be forthcoming.
As reported by The Sun in October, Dutch international Nathan Ake is one player being considered by the North London club.
The report claims that Tottenham had made Ake their number one defensive target, with Bournemouth wanting £40 million for the former Chelsea youngster.

Yesterday, however, the Dutchman may have failed his Tottenham audition.
Tottenham tore Bournemouth apart at Wembley. Spurs won 5-0 thanks to goals from Christian Eriksen, Heung-min Son (2), Lucas Moura and Harry Kane to move into second place in the Premier League.
Ake was not awful in the game. However, he did not cover himself in glory. In particular, for the fourth and fifth goal, Ake was caught out. Tottenham would not have been overly impressed by his display.
At £40 million there may be better options for the club to strengthen the centre-back position long term.
