Rob Green has labelled Arsenal star Bukayo Saka a ‘nailed on’ starter for England at Euro 2024.

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live after England’s disappointing 1-1 draw with North Macedonia last night, Green feels there’s only a few places up for grabs in Gareth Southgate’s side.

Bukayo Saka has established himself as an integral part of the England side over the past year, particularly after his performances at the World Cup in Qatar.

The 22-year-old is one of the first names on the team sheet when available and it’s no real surprise given his incredible form for Arsenal.

But he will have the likes of Phil Foden and Cole Palmer competing for his place in the England side, with the latter emerging as a real star at Chelsea this season.

Saka started from the off last night and was eventually replaced by Palmer in the 84th minute.

The Arsenal star wasn’t at his best last night but Rob Green feels he will be guaranteed a starting place in Germany next year.

Green thinks Southgate will start Saka at Euro 2024

Speaking on the Monday Night Club, Green labelled Saka a guaranteed starter while discussing England’s options.

The former West Ham shot-stopper was asked if there will be any places up for grabs ahead of next year’s Euros.

“After these two games, none more than there was before it,” Green said. “I think the guys who didn’t play will say ‘thank you very much’.

“The left-back [position], it’s become apparent that one of the two we have as recognised left-backs need to be fit.

“There’s an option out wide on the left-hand side, I don’t think Jack Grealish is nailed on so you’re looking at one of those options. Saka is nailed on.”

Saka registered an assist against Malta last week and boasts a brilliant record for the Three Lions.

The Hale End Academy product has netted 11 times and provided eight assists in 32 caps for England.

While the talented winger is yet to find his best form this season, he has plenty of credit in the bank for club and country.

Saka is still providing at the crucial moments for Arsenal and England and we’re sure he’ll be back to his best before long.
