Myles Beerman has returned to Rangers after spending the first half of the season on loan in Malta.
The Maltese left-back returned to his home country for a loan spell at Birkirkara, who play in the top division in Malta.
After spending time on loan at Queen of South last season, Beerman would have hoped to kick on at Birkirkara.
But the 19-year-old returns to Ibrox after managing just seven games for the Maltese Premier League side, with just one start to his name.
That loan spell can be considered a failure and now Beerman faces a battle to save his future at Ibrox.
The former Manchester City youngster has played nine times in total for Rangers since his 2016 move from Man City.
He is perhaps best remembered for conceding a needless penalty against Celtic in an Old Firm clash in April 2017.
That was after just seven minutes and it set the ball rolling as Celtic ran riot with a 5-1 win at Ibrox.
Left-back is an area that Rangers could look for reinforcements in but Beerman is not close to competing for a first-team spot at the moment.
The second half of the season is vital for the Malta international, who needs to prove himself during another loan spell to save his Rangers career.
