Some Arsenal fans feel Arthur Okonkwo’s new contract and first-team promotion means Alex Runarsson is bound to leave the Emirates.
On Friday, the Gunners confirmed that the 19-year-old goalkeeper had put pen to paper on a long-term deal.

Meanwhile, Runarsson hasn’t had the best time at the Emirates since joining last year.
Signed as Emiliano Martinez’s replacement, the Icelander didn’t exactly shine in his maiden campaign.
Runarsson made mistakes last season, including an error-strewn display against Manchester City.
In the end, the 26-year-old ended up becoming third-choice as Mikel Arteta signed Mat Ryan on loan from Brighton.

Leno first, Okonkwo third, but who could be second?
Leno is likely to remain as first-choice at the Emirates, while Okonkwo is likely to be third choice.
In theory, Runarsson could’ve been earmarked as second-choise.
But given how Arsenal felt compelled to sign Ryan on loan last season, some fans don’t think this’ll be the case.
They reckon Arteta will sign a goalkeeper to provide direct competition for Leno, while Runarsson will leave.
