'My goodness': Roy Keane slams Harry Kane for Spurs display against Chelsea
Sky Sports pundit and former Manchester United star, Roy Keane, has said he was disappointed to see how Harry Kane performed against Chelsea today.
Kane watched on as almost a passenger as the Blues romped to a 3-0 win against their London rivals. In fact, Kane rarely contributed, with a long-range effort in the second half his only real shot.
He wasn’t on his own, of course. However, Keane, speaking in the Sky Sports studio following the game, believes Kane’s body language said a lot about him today.
“I’ve no problem with them (Spurs) being short of quality – and I’m including Kane in that. Kane’s body language today. His performance today, oh my goodness. I’m pretty angry watching Spurs play today,” Keane said.
Keane is obviously never going to mince his words. And in a way, he did have a good point when it came to Kane and his teammates.
TBR’s View: Men against boys as Kane leaves a lot to be desired
Chelsea hammered Tottenham today. It was a top Premier League side playing a team low on ideas, confidence, and spark.
Keane is right, too, when it comes to Kane’s performance. He needs to be leading from the front, and today, he just didn’t do that.
So much talk was going on in the summer about if he’d stay with Tottenham or go to Manchester City. At the moment, it looks like he’s downed tools a bit.
It’s quite sad to see. But Keane is right to point out Kane’s performance for Spurs today. He needs to up his game, and quickly.
