‘My dream’: Leeds-linked £25m maestro keen on Premier League return, club open to offers

Reported Leeds United target Emiliano Buendia says he wants to keep playing in the Premier League, telling PA that Norwich are aware of this and are open to offers for their player.

According to a Daily Mail report from August, Marcelo Bielsa’s Whites have enquired about the 23-year-old and were quoted £25million for his services.

Buendia joined the Canaries for a reported £1.5million fee ahead of the 2018-19 season, becoming Daniel Farke’s first summer signing that year.

He has been superb for Norwich, helping them get promoted to the Premier League that season and continuing to stand out despite their tough time in the top flight.

With the East Anglians now back in the Championship, Buendia is committed to performing for his club but admits his goal is to continue in the Premier League.

“From the first day I have been happy with the relationship with them,” the Argentine told the PA newswire, via Yahoo! Sport.

“They understand my situation and they know my dream is to be in a Premier League team.

“I’m still here, I will fight for the team but if a very good offer for me arrives they are open. We’ll decide what’s best for everyone.

“Me and my family have loved the city since we arrived but I want to play in the best league in the world and would like to stay in a Premier League team.”

TBR View:

Buendia is a high-calibre player who has shown he can deliver in the Premier League, and to hear that he’s keen on a switch back to the top flight will be music to the ears of fans whose teams have been linked with him.

Whilst Leeds have been linked with Rodrigo De Paul, it remains to be seen whether new speculation will emerge linking them with Buendia, whose experience in English football, and particularly the top flight, would be invaluable.
