Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react after Fabrizio Romano revealed that Zeki Çelik is in talks to join Atlético Madrid from Lille.

What’s the story?

Why does this concern Arsenal fans?

Well, some supporters have hopped onto Twitter, as they feel Çelik’s move to Spain will result in Kieran Trippier joining the Gunners.

According to Eurosport, Arsenal are serious about bringing the ex-Tottenham man back to north London.

Trippier helped Diego Simeone win La Liga last season, and also shone for England at EURO 2020 – it would be strange to see him sold after that.

Manchester United are also said to be keen on bringing the right-back home to England – he grew up supporting the Red Devils.

However, Trippier probably has a better chance of game time under Mikel Arteta, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka already at Old Trafford.

In our view, Trippier is exactly what the Gunners need at right-back.

With Kieran Tierney bombing down the left, whipping in some exquisite deliveries, the Scot needs someone to compliment him on the other flank.

In Trippier, he would have just that.

The £20m man’s technical ability is incredible, and his low crosses into the corridor of uncertainty often cause havoc for opponents.

In Arteta’s system, the full-backs play a huge role, so an effective option who can play regularly is absolutely required.

The Spaniard can’t afford to keep swapping between Cedric, Hector Bellerin and Calum Chambers.

Let’s see what the Arsenal fans on Twitter have been saying about Çelik and Trippier…
