Aston Villa have recently had to battle to keep one of their prize starlets away from an Italian giant.
According to the print edition of The Sun on Sunday – via Sporting Life – Aston Villa have rejected AC Milan’s move for Mungo Bridge.
Aston Villa will keep Bridge at Villa Park, where he is progressing through the ranks with some promise.
And given AC Milan’s interest in his services, Bridge clearly has a lot of potential.
The 18-year-old operates as a left-back, which is an area that needs addressing in the near future.
Neil Taylor has been erratic this season and Tyrone Mings is only on loan until the end of the season at the moment.

Bridge will be eyeing a first-team breakthrough soon, if he continues to develop at the same rate.
The talented teenager usually plays for Aston Villa’s under-18 side but he has made his debut for the under-23 outfit too.
The next step in Bridge’s career is to make the move up to the under-23 team on a permanent basis before catching Dean Smith’s eye.
Bridge has the potential to become an Aston Villa first-team star in the next couple of seasons. And beating off interest from AC Milan is a real statement of intent from the Villans.
