Versatile Leeds United man Ezgjan Alioski helped Macedonia to a 1-1 draw against Slovenia during the international break.

On Sunday, Alioski’s Macedonia claimed an unlikely point away from home against Slovenia in the Euro 2020 qualifiers.

That followed a 3-1 home win against Latvia to give Macedonia four points from their opening two games in Group G, which is wide open at the moment.

And Alioski played a crucial role in both games to get Leeds fans applauding his revival.

The 27-year-old netted the opening goal against Latvia as Macedonia cruised to victory. And then he was instrumental in Macedonia’s equaliser against Slovenia.

Alioski is renowned for his tireless running and he was able to dispossess the Slovenian defender before sliding the ball across for Enis Bardhi to score.

Leeds fans have criticised Alioski on a number of occasions during his two seasons with the club but his work ethic cannot be faulted.

Alioski plays wherever Marcelo Bielsa puts him and has recently been thoroughly impressive as a left-back.

Below are several tweets from Leeds fans who were delighted to see Alioski provide the assist for Macedonia on Sunday.
