‘Much better than Elneny’, ‘why did Arsenal get rid’: Some fans hail Gunners loanee’s latest display

A number of Arsenal and West Bromwich Albion fans have taken to Twitter to praise Ainsley Maitland-Niles’ latest performance.

The Hale End graduate has made 121 competitive appearances for Arsenal since his senior debut in 2014, but has struggled to nail down a first-team place under Mikel Arteta.

After making just five Premier League starts in the first half of the season for Arsenal and playing at right-back, and on either flank, Maitland-Niles sealed a loan move to West Brom.

The 23-year-old has made five appearances for Sam Allardyce’s side so far, either in central midfield or attacking midfield, and has been winning plaudits for his performances.

Although West Brom were beaten 1-0 by Everton at the Hawthorns on Thursday night, Maitland-Niles impressed for his current side.

He put in an energetic display in his favoured midfield position, showing great footwork and making plenty of great passes.

Maitland-Niles’ ball recovery, tracking back and ball carrying was impressive, and the assist for Albion’s late offside goal came from his cross.

Needless to say, plenty of fans were impressed with the Gunners loanee’s efforts and took to social media to sing his praises:
