West Ham boss David Moyes has said the club will assess where they’re at with Jesse Lingard in the summer, after his explosive start to life as a Hammer.
The Manchester United loanee scored twice on his debut in midweek to seal a big three points against Aston Villa. Lingard, who signed close to the deadline last month, is keen to impress and show his has a future at Old Trafford.

And Moyes, speaking ahead of this weekend’s clash with Fulham, says he will look at where Lingard is at in the summer, amid talk of making a permanent move for the England man.
“I think he’s getting into the prime of his career and the stage where he wants to play well and get on the pitch. He’s set a great standard for himself and for the team this week,” Moyes told Sky Sports today.
“It’s only been one game. But we’ve got a situation here where Jesse gets a chance to look at West Ham and we’ll get a chance to look at Jesse and we’ll be able to decide what we think we in 5-6 months’ time.”

Lingard was wanted by a host of clubs in the January window, including the likes of Newcastle and Sheffield United. However, he opted to reunite with Moyes in London and already looks to have made a smart call.
TBR View: A big chance for both parties here, Lingard could be tempted
While Lingard might see his future back in Manchester, at the moment, there’s a very realistic chance of West Ham making Europe.
If they do, with Lingard leading the charge, he might well fancy the move on a more permanent basis.
His start has been exceptional and he will, of course, need to keep that up. But this could be a prime chance for West Ham to get a top player, and a top player to get back on his A game.
