Moussa Sissoko says Spurs have a truly 'extraordinary' talent in their ranks
Amid the Harry Kane transfer speculation, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Sissoko has been giving his thoughts.
The 27-year-old striker has been nothing short of sensational for Spurs and England over the years.
He is the third player in Premier League history to claim the Golden Boot and finish with the most assists in the same season.
Kane scored his 23rd goal of the season in the Premier League finale against Leicester, plus 14 assists.
However, he has reportedly expressed a desire to leave Tottenham in a bid to regularly challenge for silverware.
Speaking to Foot Mercato, Sissoko says he can understand where Kane is coming from.
The 31-year-old hopes his teammate stays put at Spurs for as long as possible.
“He did not officially say that he wanted to leave the club,” Sissoko said, as quoted by The Mirror.
“Harry is one of, today, the best attackers in the world.
“Each year, he finishes as the top scorer in the Premier League or is amongst the best goalscorers in the league.
“He executed an exceptional year because he finished as top scorer and top assister in the Premier League.
“Like all players, he wants to win titles. A player of his stature deserves to win titles each season.
“Sadly, we have failed to do so each time for various reasons. I think that this must irk him inside.
“I do not know if he will leave or not, but if he ever did leave, I would wish him the best.
“He deserves to win titles with all that he has done. He is truly an extraordinary player.
“We would like to have him with us for as long as possible, aside from that, it is all between the president, his agent and him.
“I simply wish him the best.”
With Euro 2020 on the horizon, Kane will be busy hoping to lead England to glory.
Kane transfer speculation might be on ice for a while, but this is a saga that could potentially rumble on.
If Mauricio Pochettino comes back then that could potentially tempt the Tottenham talisman into staying.
However, a player of his quality not having a single major trophy to his name at 27 is simply wrong.
