Christian Eriksen is enduring a difficult time at Inter Milan since his Tottenham Hotspur exit in January, and Moussa Sissoko has responded to a Spurs fan on Instagram when asked about the Dane – describing him as an “amazing player”.
Eriksen, 28, has already played 31 times in all competitions for Inter Milan since his move in January – but 17 of those have come from the bench under Antonio Conte. The 100-time international is struggling to nail down a first-team spot.
The former Ajax man decided to leave Spurs after 305 appearances for the north London club, moving to the San Siro where he earns a whopping £260,000 a week (Guardian). Where his immediate future lies remains up in the air.
Asked whether he misses Eriksen during a Q&A session on Instagram, Sissoko responded by stating he does indeed miss the playmaker – and described the player as amazing and a “nice man”.
TBR’s view – Should Tottenham bring Eriksen back?
Eriksen has been linked by some outlets with a return to Spurs, but should the north Londoners really consider his return? Right now, Spurs are firing on all cylinders and while they are slightly sloppy at the back – they are explosive going forward.
Son Heung-min and Harry Kane are in the form of their lives, while Jose Mourinho also has Gareth Bale, Lucas Moura, Steven Bergwijn, Dele Alli and Erik Lamela as options. Gio Lo Celso provides the creativity from midfield.
Do Spurs need Eriksen, especially given his enormous wages? Right now, probably not.
