Mousa Dembele’s Tottenham Hotspur future has been the matter of much debate in recent months, as the midfielder is out of contract in the summer and widely believed to be on his way out of north London.
Yet the Belgian international’s recent comments indicate a player happy with the direction of Spurs, possibly opening the door for Dembele to remain at the club in a shock decision.
Dembele is currently out injured with a serious ankle injury sustained earlier this month, but is due to return to Tottenham to continue his rehabilitation.
In an interview with the Evening Standard ahead of his return, the midfielder spoke glowingly about the future in north London, indicating a potential desire to extend his stay at Tottenham.

“I think we have all the ingredients to have a positive future,” Dembele told the Evening Standard. “We train hard, we have a new stadium opening soon, we have very good players, and we play very positive football. I like what Tottenham is doing by building a stable environment and infrastructure around football and our players.”
The 31-year-old is clearly impressed with the foundations being laid at Spurs and went into detail about his pleasure at the club’s positive atmosphere.
Mousa Dembele’s comments are hardly what one would expect of a disgruntled player eager to leave Tottenham, possibly revealing the central midfielder is open to signing a new deal at Spurs.
