Jose Mourinho listed Lucas Moura, Harry Kane and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg amongst the players who were fantastic in Tottenham Hotspur’s win at Aston Villa on Sunday – in comments reported by Football London.
Spurs bounced back from a tough few days to beat Dean Smith’s side. Carlos Vinicius and Kane scored in either half for the visitors.

It was a win that leaves Tottenham just three points off the top four. But it was also a much more encouraging display, with several players coming in for a rare Premier League start.
It appears that Mourinho could have singled out several more players for praise. But following the game, he identified three who potentially stuck out.

“We had lots of positive things,” he said, as reported by Football London.
“And of course I understand, they deserve this individual praise. Crazy performance by Lucas, Harry, Pierre – we had some fantastic individual performances but for me this is the victory of the dressing room, the victory of their spirit, the victory of the group that felt ashamed of what happened in the last week.”
It is probably fitting that he picked out Lucas, Kane and Hojbjerg. Kane’s form has been sensational once again this season.
Meanwhile, Hojbjerg has been a revelation for much of his first year in North London. And it could certainly be argued that Lucas has been Tottenham’s best player in recent weeks.
It would not have been an evening that saw all of Mourinho’s doubters silenced. But perhaps it was a display that provided a very small hint at the pathway Spurs could take to take them closer to future success.
