Tottenham Hotspur winger Lucas Moura is adored by Jose Mourinho.
The Brazilian has been a trusted member of the Spurs squad since the Portuguese came to the club at the end of 2019, and started a lot more games than he seemed to under Mauricio Pochettino.
The former Paris Saint-Germain star has now appeared in all but five of Mourinho’s 38 games in charge in all competitions.

His fortunes have most definitely changed since the blow of being benched by Pochettino for the 2019 Champions League final against Liverpool.
But one can’t help but feel that his status as a Jose Mourinho favourite who starts most games may soon come to an end.
For Spurs have brought Gareth Bale back to N17, and the Welshman is surely going to go straight into the starting XI.
TBR’s View – Moura back to the bench?
At the end of the day, Bale is a superstar and he is surely going to play every minute he’s available for.

When he’s raring to go, it is highly likely that he takes the place of the hardworking Moura, because Heung-min Son and Harry Kane are both simply world-class attackers who cannot possibly be dropped.
It’s been a great run in the side for Moura and he has often drawn praise from his manager, but realistically Bale has the potential to transform the team into top-four contenders.
£80,000-a-week Moura (Spotrac) will still be a key player for Spurs this season, but perhaps his status as an absolute Mourinho favourite that starts most games could be about to wane.
