Sunderland were left disappointed with a 2-2 draw against fellow League One high-flyers Peterborough United last night. A stupid red card from Bryan Oviedo made it hard to claim all three points and in the end, they had to settle for a draw.
Overall, it was a decent night for Sunderland, with many excellent performances.
However, the one man who yet again stood out for Sunderland fans was Chris Maguire.
The Scottish winger put in another breathtaking display for the club with Sunderland’s fans after the game going into overdrive with the hyperbole.
Some were even comparing him to Lionel Messi and Neymar, such is the influence of his displays.
There is no doubt he was sensational. His assist was, in particular, remarkable. Bringing the ball down from a goal kick he defeated his marker with trickery before laying on a cross for the goal.
What most Sunderland fans cannot believe is just how they managed to get Maguire for nothing. The 29-year-old had come to the end of his contract at Bury in the summer, with Sunderland snapping him up as a free agent.
