Wolverhampton Wanderers are into the next round of the League Cup after sweeping aside Sheffield Wednesday last night. It was a solid performance from a Wolves side that made several changes to the team that drew 1-1 with Manchester City at the weekend.

This was a chance for several of their fringe players to find some form and catch the eye. It also gave their youngsters an opportunity to make a name for himself.

One player who crosses the boundary between both areas is Morgan Gibbs-White.

The 18-year-old talent has impressed at Wolves, after first finding his name with an England under-17 World Cup winners medal.

But considering the influx of players at Molineux, there have been some question marks over his development at Wolves.

Last night he showed that he deserves to remain with the first-team for the 2018-19 campaign.

Gibbs-White was excellent for Wolves throughout, wreaking havoc on Wednesday’s midfield and defence in an excellent display of teenage energy.

Wolves have plenty of competition in Gibbs-white’s position. But he fully deserves a chance to shine in the Premier League this season.
