Morgan Boyes has posted on Instagram to underline his delight at leaving Liverpool to join Joey Barton’s Fleetwood Town on loan, after it was confirmed the teenage defender had signed a season-long loan with Fleetwood.
Boyes, 19, broke into the Under-23 side at Liverpool last season on a regular basis and played 11 times in Premier League 2. Not only that, but the Wales Under-19 ace also played for the senior side on two occasions.
The centre-back played the entire 90 minutes of Liverpool’s 5-0 defeat to Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup, as Jurgen Klopp chose to play his youngsters and allow then-reserve boss Neil Critchley to take charge.

He also made a late substitute appearance in the FA Cup for the Premier League champions during a 1-0 win over Shrewsbury Town. Now, he is set to get a whole lot more senior football under his belt, with Fleetwood.
Fleetwood reached the League One play-offs last season but because of the global health crisis, Wycombe were inserted into the top six – and they dispatched of Barton’s side in the semi-finals.
Barton will now be hoping his side can go one better during 2020-21 and the signing of Boyes could be crucial to doing just that. Boyes was delighted on Instagram after a move to Highbury was confirmed.
