It seems that Mousa Dembele is on his way out of Tottenham Hotspur. The Belgian is out of contract at the end of the season and China now appears to be his destination. As reported by Standard Sport, the Belgian is set to join Beijing Sinobo Guoan in an £11 million deal.
The time, it seems, has come for Dembele to move on. His recent injury record and advancing years meant a lucrative new deal was never going to be on the table at Spurs. It seems he leaves with the best wishes of everyone at the club.
Rightly so.

The midfielder has been brilliant for Tottenham ever since his £15 million arrival from Fulham in 2012.
For many, he is the most naturally talented player that Tottenham have. At least, that’s what the players say. As this Soccer AM video from 2018 shows, the players at Spurs have always been in awe of Dembele.
Dele Alli admits the Belgian is a better player. Eric Dier calls him a ‘monster, with ballerina’s feet’. Danny Rose labels him ‘unbelievable’. Clearly, he is highly rated and was certainly worth the £15 million in 2012.
But Tottenham are right to sell him in the current window. Rather than lose him on a free in the summer they are making £11 million on a player who has been struggling with injury and fitness for some time now.
Hopefully, the Chinese Super League realises just what an exceptional talent they have on their hands.
