‘Monster performance’: Arsenal fans laud Takehiro Tomiyasu for Tottenham display

Arsenal ran out comfortable enough winners in the end against Tottenham, thanks in part to an explosive first-half performance from Mikel Arteta’s side.

The Gunners ran riot in the opening 45, as goals from Emile Smith Rowe, Bukayo Saka, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang almost put the game to bed completely.

Tottenham did improve a bit after the break. A goal from Heung-Min Son late on meant it was a more nervy last ten minutes for the Gunners than they would have liked to have had. However, overall, it was a good day at the office for the Gunners.

But while Arsenal’s attackers might hog the spotlight, it was the performance of new defender, Takehiro Tomiyasu, that really caught the eye.

Other than when Son scored, the Japanese star managed to completely stifle one of Tottenham’s key men, and he looks a real gem of a signing.

Tomiyasu looks to be a bargain, for sure. And on Twitter, Arsenal fans were delighted with what they saw from the former Bologna man.

Here, then, is what some Gunners fans had to say about Tomiyasu against Tottenham today.
