Trent Alexander-Arnold fulfilled a boyhood dream on Saturday night when he helped Liverpool lift the Champions League trophy.
The local lad had become a regular fixture in Jurgen Klopp’s starting line-up. And he produced an impressive performance against Tottenham Hotspur to deliver silverware to Merseyside.
Alexander-Arnold started at right-back and impressed with both his defensive and attacking contributions. His level-headed game showed maturity beyond his years.

Going forward, Alexander-Arnold was a constant threat and he put some dangerous crosses into the box. He also nearly got on the scoresheet with a long-range drive which had Hugo Lloris momentarily worried.
And defensively, the 20-year-old played his part in shackling Son Heung-Min, Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen. Even when the fresh legs of Lucas Moura and Fernando Llorente were introduced, Liverpool rarely looked troubled.
In a game which lacked quality for the most part, Alexander-Arnold and fellow right-back Andrew Robertson were the standout performers. The sky is the limit now for Alexander-Arnold, who continues to get better.
The England international will have a short break before he joins the Three Lions for the UEFA Nations League. Here are some Liverpool fan reactions to Alexander-Arnold’s performance.
