Fabrizio Romano claims Newcastle United are really looking at signing ‘top’ Brazilian talent Andrey Santos, but nothing is done yet.
The talented 19-year-old is seen as one of the club’s ‘great gems’ and has attracted interest from a host of top European clubs.
Now Romano has confirmed that Eddie Howe’s side are interested in bringing Santos to St James’ Park.

Newcastle looking at ‘top talent’ Santos
Romano claims that Newcastle are monitoring Santos and have been for a long time.
But there is still no agreement between Vascos da Gama and the Magpies yet.
There are a host of clubs interested in the Brazilian midfielder and Romano notes that the race is currently ‘open’.
Santos is currently playing in the second tier in Brazil and has netted six times in 26 appearances from central midfield.
The Brazil U20 international has shown plenty of promise at Vasco da Gama and it’s no surprise that he is attracting plenty of interest.

TBR’s View: Santos should look to Guimaraes
Howe is currently focusing on his current squad and the club’s signings over the summer show this. But it’s smart for the club to also build for the future.
Newcastle seem to be on an upward trajectory under new ownership and it’s promising to see that the club are also keeping one eye on the future.
Bruno Guimaraes could be viewed as an inspiration for the youngster to be swayed towards a move to St James’ Park.
His compatriot has enjoyed a brilliant start to life under Howe since making the switch to Tyneside.
