Leicester are willing to let Adrien Silva join Monaco on a permanent basis if it helps them bring Youri Tielemans the other way, according to France Football, via the Leicester Mercury.
And the loan swap that has benefited both clubs since the mid-season window could apparently be made permanent on both counts.
But Leicester have reportedly been quoted £40m for Tielemans and they want that asking price brought down. If that happens, then Brendan Rodgers will apparently be happy for Silva to go to the Ligue 1 club permanently.
It’s just a game of bluff at this stage, where both sides could get something from a deal but are playing it cagey so they don’t get ripped off.
But if Tielemans has created interested in his services, Leicester may find themselves at the mercy of other clubs who can afford a bigger transfer fee.
That’s why using Silva as a bargaining chip could come in very handy for Brendan Rodgers, because Tielemans has been outstanding for Leicester since his arrival.
